An engaging corporate video earns attention in the first five seconds, tells one clear story, and ends with a reason to act. Here are five tips our production team uses to make corporate videos people actually watch — not skip.
1. Lead with story, not the company
Audiences remember stories, not org charts. Instead of opening on a logo and a mission statement, open on a person, a problem, or a moment of tension. Strong corporate video production starts with a narrative spine — who this is for, what changes for them, and why it matters — then lets the brand emerge through the story rather than interrupting it.
2. Win the first five seconds
Most viewers decide whether to keep watching almost instantly. Front-load your most compelling visual or line — a striking shot, a surprising claim, a real question — before any intro card or slow build. If the hook only lands at 0:30, most of your audience never reaches it.
3. Say one thing, not ten
The fastest way to lose a corporate audience is to cram every product, value, and department into a single film. Pick one message per video and let everything serve it. If you have five things to say, that's five focused videos — each far more memorable than one that tries to do everything.
4. Treat sound as half the picture
Viewers forgive imperfect footage but abandon bad audio in seconds. Clean dialogue, intentional music, and considered sound design do as much emotional work as the visuals. Budget for a proper mix — it is one of the highest-return, lowest-cost decisions in the edit.
5. Shoot for where it will live
A film for a boardroom, a LinkedIn feed, and a trade-show loop are three different edits. Decide the destination before you shoot: aspect ratio, length, captions for sound-off viewing, and a version cut down for social. Planning distribution up front means one shoot produces a whole family of assets.
